An inspiring evening of learning, conversation, and community.

Our recent Café Scientifique brought together researchers, clinicians, trainees, individuals with lived and living experience of ovarian cancer, and community members to explore ovarian cancer prevention, risk, and emerging strategies to reduce disease burden.

We extend our sincere thanks to our speakers, Dr. Gillian Hanley and Dr. Lesa Dawson, whose thoughtful presentations translated complex research into clear, accessible, and actionable knowledge. We were honoured to have Dr. Dianne Miller share her reflections on the origins of opportunistic salpingectomy, an approach she herself envisioned and named, and which has transformed ovarian cancer prevention globally.

This event was delivered in collaboration with the Gynecologic Cancer Initiative, the UBC Cancer Prevention Research Cluster, and the Canadian Cancer Society. We also acknowledge Doctors of BC, BRCA in BC, and BC Cancer for their participation as exhibitors.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such an important conversation.
