CTV News features GCI Investigators Dr. Jessica McAlpine and Dr. Ali Bashashati as they share how they are leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to advance endometrial cancer precision medicine.
Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic cancer and is increasing in both incidence and mortality. Drs. McAlpine and Bashashati used AI to identify a previously unknown high-risk subtype of endometrial cancer that traditional methods often miss. They explain how the implementation of AI can help to develop more personalized treatment plans, and may improve access to care for those in rural and remote communities.
To build on these discoveries, the researchers will launch a pilot project in January 2026.
