Optional Focus Group: Help Inform BRCA Research in BC

Following the Educational Session, Sabrina Lloyd-Ellis will host a 30-45 minute focus group to share plans for an upcoming research study and invite feedback. The study aims to better understand what preventive options (like surgery, hormone replacement therapy, and other interventions) people in BC with BRCA1/2 pathogenic variants and variants of unknown significance use to manage their cancer risk.

Discussion topics will include: 1) Any suggestions for improvement, 2) Whether the research feels important or useful, 3) If anything seems missing.

Anyone with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 pathogenic variant (PV) or variant of unknown significance (VUS) is eligible to participate, regardless of your age, or whether you have or have not already undergone any preventive interventions.

If you’re interested in participating, please contact Sabrina Lloyd-Ellis at lloydels@student.ubc.ca. Pre-registration is required, so please let us know if you are planning to attend the feedback session.
