Dr. Gillian Hanley is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gynaecology at the University of British Columbia, Women’s Health Research Institute member, and economics researcher with the Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OVCARE). She obtained her combined Honours BSc in Biology and Economics at Dalhousie University, MA at McMaster University in Economics with a concentration in health economics, and PhD at the University of British Columbia in the School of Population and Public Health. With her immense interest in women’s health and her training in economics, health services research, and pidemiology, Dr. Hanley’s research is primarily aimed at prevention of ovarian caner, as well as healthy reproduction and pregnancy. Recently, she has focused on a knowledge translation initiative involving opportunistic salpingectomies to aid in preventing ovarian cancer.
